Siak, September 29, 2026 — The Legal Division of the Siak Regency Regional Secretariat conducted a legal awareness session at MA Al Aziz Riau in Siak District on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The event focused on the theme of "Bullying," aiming to enhance students' understanding and awareness regarding the dangers of bullying in both the school environment and daily life. The session was organized by the Legal Division of the Siak Regency Regional Secretariat—representing Ms. Yulianti Sembiring, S.H.—and featured speakers from the Technical Implementation Unit for Women and Child Protection (UPT PPA): Ms. Revianti Hasibuan and Ms. Iklima Sara Yulis. During the session, the speakers educated students on the definition of bullying, its various forms, the potential impact on victims, and the importance of preventing and stopping bullying within the educational environment. Bullying encompasses not only physical violence but also verbal and social abuse, as well as harassment via digital media. Consequently, students were encouraged to recognize bullying behaviors and were urged neither to become perpetrators nor to stand by while peers are bullied. The speakers also encouraged students to foster a school environment that is safe, comfortable, mutually respectful, and free from all forms of bullying. Students were urged to have the courage to speak up and report any instances of bullying they witness or experience to teachers, parents, or relevant authorities so that appropriate action can be taken. The event was interactive, offering participants the opportunity to discuss and ask questions regarding bullying issues that may arise in school or on social media. Through this legal awareness initiative, the Legal Division of the Siak Regency Regional Secretariat and the UPT PPA hope to raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of respecting the rights and dignity of others, cultivating mutual respect, and collectively creating a safe, bullying-free educational environment. This activity is part of an effort to provide legal education to the public—particularly the younger generation—so that they possess legal knowledge and awareness from an early age and are able to play an active role in creating a safe, welcoming, and just environment.
